Last week, Ross, Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey and Chandler re-united after 17 years to bring us a very special reunion episode. Friends was the first ever show that I had binge-watched. I have followed the show literally on every channel it aired on growing up, from Star World early on to Zee Cafe and then to Comedy Central.

Now getting into who was the most popular F.R.I.E.N.D?
A data scientist downloaded the transcripts of all 10 seasons and analyzed them to give some interesting results.

• Ross and Rachel had more than 9,000 lines, with Phoebe having the least lines at 7,400

• Even though he didn’t have the most lines, Chandler appeared on screen 1,400 times, highest by any of the six cast members. Ross was at second place. Phoebe once again had the lowest appearances.

• But when it comes to individual screen appearances without the other five friends, Ross leads the way with almost 150 appearances, followed by Joey and Phoebe. Monica had only 50 individual appearances, the lowest.

• There are 27-episode titles with Rachel’s name mentioned in it, followed by 24 episodes for Ross. Monica is last with only 8 mentions.

Turns out, Ross was indeed the most popular cast member with a significant amount of screen time and presence.
