Why is the Brain in the head rather than with most major organs in the mains body mass?🧠
Found this interesting post on reddit today, the answer was too interesting:
The brain is near all of our sensory organs since that's what it needs to be close to talk to quickly. Your brain doesn't need near real-time updates from your gut. It needs real-time updates from your eyes, ears, and nose.
Another point to add is that the brain requires a pretty tightly-controlled environment (temperature, blood flow, etc.) and having that kind of mega-needy organ be in its own little space, away from the hubbub of the rest of the body’s organs, makes it a lot easier to create a super-fine-tuning-environment to regulate what goes in and what comes out without having to worry about what the liver or the pancreas is up to at any given minute.
