On paper, the Blues have quality players in most areas of the field with a host of creative attackers and decent depth in midfield. The likes of Kai Havertz, Joao Felix, Mason Mount, Noni Madueke, Pulisic and co are talented and would cause any defence problem if they are performing at optimum levels. In the past Naglesmann has managed to get the best out of these sorts of players with the likes of Dani Olmo, Jamal Musiala, Christopher Nkunku and Kerim Dermibay all having some of the best spells of their careers under the German manager. He has almost favoured a fluid attack in the past with the quality up top at Chelsea it might grow into one of the most lethal attacks with the German tactician.
The German manager has also favoured a back three at previous clubs and the foundation is already laid down at Chelsea with the likes of Wesley Fofana, Thiago Silva, Kalidou Koulibaly and co impressing in a back three this season.
At the moment, the foundation at Chelsea looks perfect for Julian Nagelsmann with attackers capable of working brilliantly in tight spaces and a solid back-line. The only obstacle in Chelsea’s way may be whether Bayern will be willing to let Nagelsmann move to a club they could potentially face in the Champions League.
If they do, Julian Nagelsmann would take Chelsea back to the top.
