The Twitter Layoffs to begin from today. The company will inform its employee by an email whether they have been laid off.

It will also tell employees if they are temporarily closing its offices and preventing staff access.

The social media, and microblogging company on Thursday sent an email to its employees, asking them to go home and not report to the office on Friday.

The company said in the email, that it will alert employees by 9 a.m. Pacific time on Friday (12 p.m. EDT/1600 GMT) about staff cuts.

Its been a week, since billionaire Elon Musk took over Twitter and there has been choas and confusion among the employees of twitter, who have been kept in dark.

At the Twitter offices in San Francisco and Singapore there has been fear among half of the Twitter staff of job cuts that were planned to hit about half of the staff, according to current and former employees and message board posts shared with Reuters.

Employees has been bracing themselves for some kind of bad news after Musk completed $44 billion deal.

The Washington Post and New York Times reported that about half of Twitter's 7,500 employees will be let go.

The email sent to employees acknowledged that Twitter is going through "an incredibly challenging experience," and in order to make a healthy path the company will go through the difficult process of reducing the global work force.
