“I am Diana of Themyscira, daughter of Hippolyta. In the name of all that is good, your wrath upon this world is over.” This statement alone is enough to brings chills to anyone who opposes the princess and leader of the Amazons and she is none other than Wonder Women. She along with Batman and Superman are considered to be the trinity of the DC universe. She has been one of the most iconic characters ever since her debut and she is the symbol of women empowerment and unlike many other heroes she earned her place in world through trials and tribulations.
She leads a race of warrior women that hails from Themyscira an island that can be considered an allegory for women being able to succeed without the aid of men. She is a demigoddess and according to some of her origin stories it was said that she was molded from the clay that was formed out of the souls of abused and murdered women. She was infused with the strength of Demeter, beauty of Aphrodite, wisdom of Athena, speed of Hermes, skills of Artemis and fire of Hestia. She is physically stronger and can go toe to toe with one of the strongest superheroes in existence. The bracelets she wears is actually to weaken her powers in order to protect her enemies.
She is the very contradiction of the age-old argument that heroes quite often create the villains that oppose them. Her villains would have existed even without her being there. She is a natural born leader and her purpose is to promote peace and good will. She stands out as a person who tries to guide someone to be better. She is the very person that anyone would call to end a war through words and in a peaceful manner.
