Local media in Brazil shared the news of his passing at his home in Corrego del Cafe.

Gomes lived a truly extraordinary life, riding horses until four years ago and leaving behind a legacy of seven children, 25 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

He was known for his humble and natural lifestyle, savoring locally grown and raised food and occasionally enjoying a drink.

His journey witnessed World Wars and pandemics, making him a living history!


Though there have been contrasting claims about his age, his family remembers him as over 100 years old, possibly 110.

Jose's story is an inspiration to all, showcasing the indomitable spirit and strength of the human soul.
