Ajinkya Rahane has made a comeback into the Indian Test side. He is named into the squad for the ICC World Test Championship 2023 Final against Australia, to be played at the Kennington Oval from June 7.
Rahane is in rich form with the bat in recent times. He also has a decent record against Australia in Tests and has plenty of experience at the highest level. He loves playing overseas and his contribution will be key for the Indian side in the WTC final.

#3 81 – 2nd Test, Brisbane (December 17 - 20, 2014)
Autralia won the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2014. In the second Test, India were asked to bat first and Rahane looked in fine touch at the Gabba. He held the innings nicely for the visitors and scored 81 off 132 balls. His knock comprised eight fours. He was at the crease for over three hours before nicking one to Brad Haddin behind the stumps.
#2 147 – 3rd Test, Melbourne (December 26 - 30, 2014)
Australia had already taken a 2-0 lead in the four-match Test series in 2014 and India needed something special to stay alive in the series. Ajinkya Rahane, the ever-reliant batter, stepped up for them and hit a brilliant century in the first innings at the MCG. He hit 21 fours and scored 174 off 171 balls. He hit some beautiful strokes in his innings and was instrumental in them drawing the Test.
#1 112 – 2nd Test, Melbourne (December 26 - 29, 2020)
India faced a humiliating loss in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21. They turned the tables around quickly, thanks to their stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane. After knocking over the hosts on 195, Rahane displayed a batting masterclass at the MCG and scored a sensational hundred. He scored 112 off 223 balls which helped them get the first-innings lead. They went on to win the game by eight wickets and it remains one of the best comebacks in the history of this beautiful game.
