Yaqeen ka Safar loosely translates to 'The Journey to Trust' and the title is felicitous with the journeys of the two protagonists who fall apart, gather themselves and move ahead only to find solace in each other.
The drama depicts the story of three families belonging to different classes who struggle with constant battles with self and the world.
It is a well-knit story where both the leads played by Sajal Ali and Ahad Raza Mir are wronged by the very own people they trusted and who then embark upon this journey wherein they find it hard to trust again.
The progression of the storyline is what I like the most about this drama which also marked the beginning of the 'Sahad Fandom'. The drama follows the Plot Diagram by establishing a strong beginning, rising action gradually building up to the climax followed by the falling action slowly leading to the end resolution. The backgrounds of all the characters are well-defined and nothing seems to be forced in this multi-thematic drama which highlights the issues of politics, corruption, flawed justice system, domestic violence and stresses upon the value of education and the moral responsibilities of an individual.
Besides the immaculate storytelling, the drama is enriched with beautiful dialogues with my favourite being:
"log toh sabhi achhe hote hain,
bas Khuda bura waqt na laaye"
For me the highlight of the drama is the entire sequence of Hippocratic Oath which is extremely well-crafted, well-directed and well-performed. It explicitly showcases the conflicting emotions of the protagonist when he saves the child of the woman who was responsible for his brother's death.
Yakeen Ka Safar is a must watch for all as it teaches patience and empowers the viewer to stand up for the truth even if the whole world is denying it and lastly to not lose hope in the essence of life no matter how ugly the world gets.
